I am called Tipsy because I was rescued from the local tip. 

A kind lady who was dumping her rubbish heard me whimpering and called DASH Dogs to come get me. 

I am a very kind and gentle little guy and my caretakers here think I must have been a pet once. 

It is common for dogs to be abandoned when they get sick, so maybe that’s what happened to me.

I am still not very well but am getting looked after here at the shelter. 

I have tested positive for leishmanaisis, which is a Mediterranean disease caused by a sand fly bite.

This means my immune system is compromised and I am prone to illness and infections. 

I also find it hard to put on any weight and need special nutritious foods and regular medication and vet visits. 

The vets do not know my age because my teeth are in such bad condition but everybody is hopeful that I will get well soon as many others with my condition have here at DASH Dogs. 

I am stable but still quite poorly which unfortunately makes it difficult for me to be adopted, I need lots of care and attention at DASH Dogs to get me healthy.
