Our loyal helpers give up their precious time to help with the day to day running of the shelter. We couldn’t manage without them!

Led by founder Katerina, the DASH Dogs team cares around the clock for hundreds and hundreds of abused, homeless, starving, sick, injured and elderly dogs as well as many abandoned puppies. Many would not survive without Katerina’s care and determination.

Katerina is the backbone of DASH. As the founder, her passion and dedication is unrivalled. You will find her at the crack of dawn carrying out the back breaking work that is required to run the shelter effectively. This includes hauling sacks of feed around the shelter to feed the hundreds of dogs, treating the sick, ordering and organising supplies including food and medicine, and responding to urgent rescue requests. The list is endless. Katerina does not stop until late into the night, every single day of the year.

Katerina lives on site and cares for the DASH animals throughout the day and night with her small team of volunteers. They provide desperately needed love, care, comfort, water, food, shelter, medicine and veterinary treatments to save as many lives as they can. The shelter is overcrowded and Katerina often has to make the difficult decision of whether to buy food or medicine for the dogs. Resources are extremely limited and conditions are very challenging.
